Gold Leaf - Flake Sportster

Kristian´s blue flaked Sportster I gilded "Little Bastard" last year, is more or less finished.. the seat is in my shop for some custom leather work, but it´ll be on the road this autumn.. :-) It´s pretty much an original Sportster, with some custom paint, apes etc.. and it doesn't take much to make an Original pretty cool!

Harley Sportster - Project

Roger´s project which I will customise this autumn/winter with gold leaf, pinstriping, some lettering and a new leather seat with motive, after Kristian have done the paint job, which I think is going to be pretty cool.. We are trying to do a little combination of "old skool" and high tech/modern style..

Most of the bike is built by Custom Speed in Norway, including the frame and many one off custom parts..

Gilding & Lettering

More or less done with the outline and shadowing of the gold leaf on my friends Sportster gas tank..

For this one I used House of Kolor "Royal Blue" and "Process Blue". I dont think I´m going to use HOK much more again.. 1-shot enamel is more glossy, more pigment, it flows better, it doesn´t dry as fast and is a little cheaper.. :-)

Anyway, now it´s time for my friend Kristian Sabel to add the clear to make the flake pop..

Gold Leaf - Little Bastard

Started to put some blue variegated gold leaf on a Sportster gas tank for a Harley bobber.. With a little outlining, shadowing and clear to make the flake pop, I think it might be pretty cool :-) or what do you think? :-)

Featured in the latest issue of BikerJournalen with the front cover and a three pages article. Below a picture of the finished bike captured last summer.

Leather seat with pinstriping design...

Almost finished with a new leather seat with a pinstriping
motive for a custom Harley Sportster built by CBB... it still needs to
be polished and bolted to the seat pan..

Abow, the seat finished, bolted and attached to the Harley. The seat pan is custom and hand made for this bike, so all of this is one of a kind.

Copper leaf - Sportster Gas tank

This was made to honour Jeff McCann which was the inspirator for me to begin with this. He sent me two of his favourite pinstriping brushes (Mack Series #10), which was my forst two brushes.. I have learned a lot from him and Jeff have now become a friend. Even tho he doesn´t customize Harley´s and other custom motorcycles anymore, his work will stand out for many years to come. Check out his amazing work here and you can read more about him here, you wont regret if you are interested in custom paint and building motorcycles! As Jeff always says, Motorcycles Forever!
